Princess Hours (Goong) Genre: K-drama / 2006 Based on a popular comic book series, MBC's hit drama Palace fancifully re-imagines present-day Korea as a constitutional monarchy with a royal family. A beautiful palace, sitting in the heart of modern-day Seoul, becomes the home to a group of young royals pulled into the political rivalries, comical hijinks, and romantic entanglements of palace life. Sparks will fly when youth romance meets palace politics in this colorful romantic comedy! Couple or Trouble Genre: K-drama / 2007 This series is based on the 1987 American movie Overboard. Anna Jo (Han Ye Seul) is a rude, feisty, and audacious American-bred heiress who can never be satisfied. She returns to Korea only to continue being a controlling wife to her already cowardly husband, Billy Park (Kim Sung Min). When her yacht gets stuck for repairs, she hires local handyman Jang Chul Soo (Oh Ji Ho) to fix her shower, but when they have a heated spat over her dissatisfaction and non payment, she pushes him overboard and dunks his tools into the ocean right along with him. Later, after a quarrel with Billy that threatens to end their marriage, she herself gets drunkenly pitched overboard and falls victim to a bad case of amnesia. Coffee Prince Genre: K-drama / 2007 This drama is based from a romantic comedy manga by writer Lee Sun Mi. The heroine, Go Eun Chan, disguises herself as a man in order to avoid an arranged marriage. She works in a coffee specialty shop and then falls in love with the hot-tempered president of the shop, Choi Han Kyul. Han Kyul thinks that Eun Chan is a man so he starts to question his sexuality and Eun Chae is torn that she cannot reveal herself unless she wants to face her marriage predicament. Thank You Genre: K-drama / 2007 Dr. Min Ki Seo went to Blue Island to fulfill his deceased girlfriend's last wish to find the single mother and her little girl who was infected by HIV and to apologize to them on her behalf as she had unknowingly given the girl tainted blood when she was being treated at the hospital. Lee Young Shin, the single mom, was having a hard time caring for her grandfather who has Alzeimer's and keeping her daughter's HIV condition a secret while teaching her how to live with it. Min Ki Seo was an arrogant person who looked down on people and in meeting Lee Young Shin who accepted her fate and tried to make the best of it despite all odds, he slowly changed for the better and became a warm and caring person. Someday A Korean TV drama with a twist of animation, Someday tells the story of three people’s journey into the crazy world of love. Produced by Yellow Film (Alone in Love and Freeze), Someday is one of the most anticipated and talked about DVD releases of 2007. Hana Yamaguchi (Bae Doo-Na, The Host) is a successful young cartoonist. Although she writes romantic comics, she is analytical and pessimistic about love. My Lovely Sam Soon Thanks to its every-woman protagonist, My Lovely Sam-Soon has been billed as Korea's answer to Bridget Jones. Kim Sam-Soon is a Cordon Bleu-trained pastry chef who doesn't conform to the stereotype of the typical K-Drama Cinderella. Sam-Soon won't let men push her around, will eat and sleep her way out of a depression, and could care less how other people see her.
